Share ‘A Moment In Time’ With Photographer Janet White
Author: Deb Trotter
Imagine you are walking along a road bordered by golden-green hills and meadows. You can see the hilltop up ahead – so perfectly scattered with trees and the shadows of clouds – you could swear it had been painted.
You long to be on top of that hill – right next to the neighboring snow covered peak. You’d put away your camera and open your wicker picnic basket. Indulge in a glass of wine, some nutty cream-colored cheese, and home made bread. Lay down on a your grandmother’s quilt – which miraculously just happens to be there on the ground. And watch the clouds dance.
But you’ll never get to that hill – for between the road ahead and that little hilltop – there’s a soft and eerie miasma of fog that owns the land between. And you may never find your way out.
Still – you can’t resist the irresistible pull of that light-painted hilltop. Because you’re a photographer and a nature lover … with the heart of an artist.
You can take that journey through the eyes of someone who’s been there – simply follow this link to the Snow Moon Photography Blog of my friend, Janet White.

Some of you may recall that I blogged about Janet years ago.
Back then, in 2006, Janet was an expert at digital scrapbooking. I was amazed (and still am) by the detail in this piece, “Funny Fit.” What really drew my attention were the flies. Gotta say that I hate flies – who doesn’t. But I can’t imagine this digital piece without them.
Janet knows how to capture each ‘moment in time’ – through both her descriptions and her photographer’s eye. I love how she recounts the day she shot, “Aspen Sunshine,” below …

“Sunshine bursting through aspen trees on a glorious fall day. This is one of those photos that can take you back to that place and moment in time where you can almost smell the scent of the aspen leaves crunching under your feet that have already fallen amongst the dry grasses. A walk in the quiet on a warm fall day.”
The thing I love most about Janet is that we share the same passion for the West. We are both comforted by the chill in the air and the crunching of Aspen leaves beneath our feet. We have both fallen prey to the lure of Old Faithful Geyser and the ancient whispers of Yellowstone. And we each have our own special way of sharing those moments.

The only thing you’re missing, Janet … is a nice comfy pair of Cowgirl Boots! I tip my Cowgirl Hat to ya, girlfriend. There are plenty more photographs waiting to be taken. Go get ‘em, pardner.
