Who says there are no good men left anymore? Not I. Not my friend, Jeanna. And not ANY woman who attended a Wine & Chocolate Tasting over the weekend here in Cody,Wyoming!

Ready for this? Drum Roll, Please ….

Ta DAAAA!

This is Tim Kellogg. Tim works on a ranch as a full time cowboy, AND …. He makes the most sinful, delectable, luscious chocolate concoctions you have ever tasted. Tim has a business in Meeteetse, Wyoming (a little one-block western town that STILL has wooden sidewalks and hitching posts beside the road for your horse!) called The Meeteetse Chocolatier.

Tim is also a rodeo Bronc rider – Yee Ha, Ride em, Cowboy! If you'd get a kick out of seeing some photos of his ranch life, rodeo gigs, and his press & media gallery, visit Tim's other website here.

Tim was kind enough to have his picture made with two "very mature" women, me (left) and Jeanna (right). Surely by now he is used to all the attention he gets, but he is quite humble and gracious, and just makes you feel like you are an old friend. (Well, I AM old in comparison to Tim, but somehow I didn't feel that way.) Maybe it was the chocolate AND the fine wine?

Tim's mom, Jane Kellogg, is a wonderful mosaic artist who lives here in Cody. Tim is an artist, too – with chocolate! His mousse filled chocolate cupcakes were so beautiful, it was a shame to eat them (NOT!).

A Cowboy cutie who MAKES CHOCOLATE? Be still, my beating heart!

And speaking of cuties, Jeanna and I had our own little dates, Sam Elliot and Robert Pattinson!

Here they are, offering us Chocolate & Beer Brownies, and Chocolate Flavored Beer. (I didn't know there WAS such a thing as Chocolate Beer! I'm not a big beer drinker – I prefer wine – but it was kind of cool.)

Sam & Robert helped us to "document" the event with each and every chocolate and wine (or beer) offering and never complained once.

(YUM! Here's that mousse filled (and topped) cupcake I was telling you about.)

Our husbands are were not really interested in attending, so Jeanna and I decided we would go to the event with our own favorite celebrities – a Cowboy and a Vampire!

Here they are, being "naughty" by "hanging out" with Jeanna (a bit out of focus, but I HAD to show it) – and posing with some of the feathers we "stole" out of a feather and flower filled vase …

OK, pardner. I know what you're thinking. "These Women Are Crazy."

Maybe so. When we arrived at the Wine Tasting and pulled Sam and Robert out of our purses, most everyone in attendance stared and chuckled. By the end of the night, though, some of those same people stopped by our table and grinned or said hello. Folks seem to enjoy free spirits after all. You can't go wrong when you are accompanied by Sam Elliot and Robert Pattinson!

The Valentine Sweets wine tasting was sponsored by Juniper and The Meeteetse Chocolatier. Truly a great night! Most of the attendees were women (hmmm. is there any doubt that a combination of wine, tasty chocolate, and charming men would tempt a woman?)

Happy Trails!

Wanna hear a big old "YEE HAW?" Well, here it is, pardner

Take a gander at this Cowgirl Cool Valentine Gift section from the Valentine's issue of Western Horseman magazine …

The "True Love" Buckaroo Bag that my friend, Karna Morton, and I made is featured in the February issue as a Rave & Fav "Valentine Offering!"

OK, you are thinking. Big Deal.

I reckon it isn't such a major Whooppee Ay Kai Ay to many folks out there in this wild mixed media world we all live in … But for ME, Cowgirl Deb, who lives, breathes, paints, photographs, collects, and passionately adores cowgirls, horses, and cowboys, THIS IS DA BOMB! This is my "niche." This is my life. This is one of my ultimate goals – to be recognized by the folks whom I so often depict in my artwork. Folks who love dogs, Buffalo, horses, Grizzly Bears, Antelope, vast western skies with their strange stretched clouds, flatbed trucks, snow on the roof of their house, sun drenched hoo doos and buttes and mesas, exploring and embracing the never ending trails and off the beaten track adventures.

One of Western Horseman's Editors mentioned that later on this year they'd like to do a feature on my artwork, photograph my studio, and interview me. Yee Ha! That would be SO much FUN! I am chomping at the bit with excitement for an opportunity to reach more western art collectors and cowgirl-cowboy lovers. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will all work out.

I tell you, pardner. All that talk you've heard about marketing. Never giving up. Remaining consistent and prolific. (even when you feel like a lost puppy in the corner of the barn, while all the big doggies are all playing and getting all those tasty dog biscuits) All that "administrative" stuff that many artists just hate to face … that "STUFF" is GOOD for you. It's good for your credibility. Good for your visibility. Good for your business acumen. Good for your brain. Therefore, it's good for your art!

The Western Horseman people discovered me on Etsy and moved on to my website – then to my blog. And to think I almost removed my Etsy items for a while because my sales were sometimes so erratic. Was it worth it to leave the shop open? Absolutely!

This art world we walk around in, blog in, network in, is constantly changing. There are folks all over the place looking at our artwork. We know they are there – but we simply can't always know WHO they are. And some of those "hits" are potentially very opportunistic ones! It blows my mind right out of my head when I consider all the possibilities!

So, that's my little "Yee Ha" Lightbulb Moment. I just wanted to share with all my kindred spirits.

I leave you with a pic of the opposite page in Western Horseman where they featured Western themed Valentines … highly collectible. I have a few myself and I treasure them almost as much as my vintage cowgirl photo collection. I had to Photoshop in the February cover, as well as a totally COOL Ariat Ad with one HOT cowboy. I LOVE those ads!

It's all such an obsession for me. And I'm so glad I chose to follow my passion.

What's your passion?

Happy Trails!
