Yee Ha! YES! Whoooooo Hoooooooooo!
I don’t know how many of you have been anticipating Angela & Sarah’s new Zine, but it’s ready!
It’s called Pasticcio: "a work or style produced by borrowing fragments, ingredients, or motifs from various sources; a potpourri."
And this zine isn’t simply a venue for artwork, but promises a myriad of goodies: artist profiles, art history, recipes, reviews… the list goes on and on.
I was honored to have a piece of art included in this Zine, along with several other Art Pub members.
If you are familiar with Sarah & Angela, you know they never do anything but one way – FIRST CLASS.
Case in point: In This House. What a fantastic book! Innovative, charming, daring, and full of beautiful eye candy. These two women had the vision and the guts to shake up the mixed media publishing world by producing a showcase of "homes" from artists of so many different styles. From the "tour of homes" to the clever backdoor that opens into the artists’ minds, this book is sheer joy.
As for Pasticcio, if Angela & Sarah’s description is correct (and you can BET it is), this zine, (in full color!), is replete with glossy pages featuring inventive, sumptuous artwork. Both Angela & Sarah are generous and perceptive when it comes to showcasing such a variety of artists, so I know we are in for a treat.
I just ordered mine. So what’s keeping you?

Happy Trails.

No. It’s not a monster from outer space. It’s not "ET" in disguise. And it’s not an assemblage (well, it WAS "assembled," but merely for function.)
It’s my new studio fan.
Pretty wild, huh?
You know an artist has gone off the deep end when she goes to Wally World, and purchases not just a red space monster, but …
This little devil is a mini fan. I had to have more AIR! I tell you, it is suffocating in here, and so hard to work in a studio that could easily substitute for a sauna.
Desperate to escape the heat, Hubby & I went to the movies last night. We chose the vintage, nostalgic movie theatre in downtown Cody (the four-plex we normally go to had absolutely nothing of interest, movie wise). And guess what? NO AIR CONDITIONING THERE, EITHER! The fact that it was built in the 30’s & has never been fully "restored" should have been a clue. DUH.
Sigh. That’s Cody for you. (REAL cowboys and cowgirls sweat it out, so I guess I’m "authentic" in that regard.)
To make matters worse, my studio is a mess. I’m still organizing and packing for my classes at Art Unraveled. As you can see, it’s not a pretty sight…
Last, but not least, you can tell that what little space I have left to work in is just as bad.
(Note the almost empty wine glass emblazoned with western "brands" in there amidst the paint. HA! A cowgirl’s gotta manage the heat somehow!)
Well, the space monster is cranked up as high as he will go. After my work tonight is complete, I plan on (at the recommendation of a friend) – spraying the sheets & pillows with a mist of water. This, my friends, is survival.
Happy Trails.
